Viscovery and Fujitsu assist FamilyMart to build its second technology concept store with Visual Marketing
Since 2016, FamilyMart has been vigorously integrating new technology in order to meet customers’ needs and enhance competitiveness in this new era filled with new technologies. Last year, FamilyMart built its first Technology Concept Store, and the second one started operation on October 23rd this year. FamilyMart cooperated with its long-term partner and renowned system integrator, Fujitsu, and leading Vision AI company, Viscovery, to launch “Smart Shelf”, also known as “Visual Marketing” in the new Concept Store, creating a brand-new application for smart convenience stores.
As informed buying becomes more and more critical in the decision-making process, FamilyMart invited Viscovery and Fujitsu to implement “Smart Shelf” (Visual Marketing) which provides consumers sufficient product information. Using image recognition technology, Smart Shelf detects and recognizes shoppers’ behavior and the products picked up by the shoppers in real time. As soon as a product is picked up, relevant product info will be shown, in the form of video or picture, on the screen on top of the shelf. With Smart Shelf, shoppers no longer need to find or wait for busy store staff to ask for product information.
In addition to offering product info, Viscovery Visual Marketing helps retailers and brands obtain insights into shopper behaviors, such as shoppers’ dwell time, a specific product’s engaged frequencies by shoppers…etc. With customer insights, retailers are able to plan precision marketing strategies to optimize service and enhance sales conversion.
